Underrated Ad: 50 Cent Reebok G-Unit Sneaker 2 Commercial

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SdJt2ijxME

While promoting the album, 50 also did the 2nd G-Unit Sneaker campaign, 2 years after his collaboration ad with Jay-Z for the S.Carter Collection Reebok Sneaker. However, this ad shows 50's marketing genius for the brand even further.

In the ad, 50 is playing Stickball & Football in the street & doing Boxing workouts on the roof with former Middleweight Champion Winky Wright, all while the 1st song from The Massacre album "In My Hood" serves as the background music to the commercial, that best embodies where the backdrop of the ad, probably in 50's old neighborhood in Southside Jamaica, Queens, New York, the activities that's happening & the overall mood of the ad.

Personally, for me, this ad is not only inspirational, but also nostalgic! It takes me back to a simpler time in life! Salute to 50 & Reebok for such an underrated gem of a commercial ad spot!

Aaliyah's Tommy Hilfiger + Tommy Jeans Commercial.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJUN8OdRyeg

In the mid-90s, Tommy Hilfiger tapped the late great R&B Superstar, Baby-girl: Aaliyah, to be the face & model of Tommy Hilfiger's Tommy Jeans campaign during the era of her sophomore album: One In A Million. What makes this ad GENIUS, is the effortless charisma & edgy fly-girl appeal of Aaliyah, coupled with her smooth narration, where she describes what physical "genes" she got from her parents, but her Tommy "jeans" are her own.

This was just BRILLIANT!!!

The A5 Reebok Campaign: The Commercial That Shook Up The Advertising World in 2001

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tV032giXqzg

In 2001, at the height of Philadelphia 76ers Allen Iverson's Underdog MVP Season, as well as the peak of Hip Hop's most artsy & over-the-top era of music videos & creative lyrical wordplay, The 2 Worlds would collide & explode in the world of advertising, starring Iverson & the Beloved Ruff Ryders lyricist Jadakiss, for the Trackmasters: Tone & Poke musically produced commercial "The Answer 5 Reebok Campaign" to promote & celebrate Allen Iverson's 5th sneaker installment with the brand. Hip Hop's presence in marketing & branding was always felt, but this campaign was the most culturally significant & special. Being from Harlem, I watched Rucker Park Tournaments, And-1 Mixtapes & Streetball Culture at large, rise like never before in the early 2000s. In my view, Iverson's stamp & Jadakiss lyrical genius, helped bring Streetball Culture to the masses with this campaign, giving a face & a gritty raspy voice for a brand that was forward thinking. Thank you to everyone involved for this moment in THE CULTURE!!!

LL Cool J + The GAP + FUBU = The Greatest Cross-Branding Campaign in HIP HOP HISTORY!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRK5pgfD_z0

This campaign is ICONIC! It help turn FUBU from urban fashion's lowkey best kept secret to a Billion Dollar Empire!!! Because of the success of Phat Farm/Baby Phat, Sean Jean, Rocawear & G-Unit Clothing moving forward, this power move by LL Cool J gets overlooked sometimes. I actually remember this commercial growing up & because The GAP was such a huge conglomerate at the time, it was a win-win situation for everyone involved. It introduced FUBU to the masses, upped The GAP's stock even more & further extended LL Cool J as an individual brand, seeing as how he was the star of the CBS/UPN sitcom "In The House", he would also become a spokesperson for Coca-Cola & he would go on to get other movie roles moving forward. Also around that time, LL would go to win a Grammy for his song "Hey Lover" featuring the legendary Diamond selling R&B group Boyz II Men!!!

All in all: The Ladies Loved Cool James even more & the whole world was wearing FUBU! What A Time!!! Salute to everyone involved.
